The Mason County Sheriff’s Office just received $1554 from the U.S. Department of Justice to pay for half the cost to outfit our deputies with bulletproof vests. Bulletproof vest warranties expire every five years. “The Bulletproof Vest Partnership program is a valuable resource for smaller law enforcement agencies with limited budgets. Our deputies risk their lives each day to keep Mason County safe." Sheriff Wayne Youell said. "Bulletproof vests have been proven to save lives. We owe it to all of our county law enforcement officers to provide and make certain this protective gear is up to date and effective."
