| • | Collecting evidence at crime scenes such as, but not limited to, fingerprints, blood, other DNA, shoe prints, photographs and crime scene measurements. The detective must be able to process the evidence and be prepared to testify in court as to the specifics of the crime scene. |
| • | Conducting liquor license investigations. |
| • | Assisting other law enforcement agencies within Mason County on their investigations. |
| • | Writing search warrants, overhear orders, asset seizure forms, and other documents used by the justice system. |
| • | Submitting evidence to the state forensic crime laboratories. |
| • | Preparing for trial by relocating witnesses, serving subpoenas, and preparing evidence for court. The preparation of evidence includes enlarging pictures or maps that need to be used for court testimony. |
| • | Interviewing crime victims, witnesses, and offenders. |
| • | Installing and conducting video and audio surveillance. |
