Mason County Sheriff's Office: Traffic Safety Project Grant
The Mason County Sheriff’s Office received a nearly $600 grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation for a Traffic Safety Project conducted in Mason County on December 6, 2002. The grant paid the personnel overtime costs during the project and for a portable alcohol breath test unit. Sheriff Wayne Youell reports, “Thanks to the Department of Transportation’s assistance, now each of Mason County’s sheriff’s patrol deputies possesses an alcohol breath test unit. It will make our deputies just that much more efficient in alcohol related matters.”
